Training for TDS 2015
In around 3 weeks from now I’ll be running the TDS (Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie – a UTMB week race).
As a part of my vacations I spent a full week in Chamonix, where my girlfriend Maibritt and I have explored the area and checked the last 25km of the course (from Les Monquarts to Les Contamines). The course looks fantastic and I cannot wait to experience it all!
It was a relaxing week, where we hiked/ran in slow pace during many hours a day, stopped at the mountain huts to eat and drink, and took many pictures. I had 2 session alone where I pushed the pace a bit harder, but in general we just moved in a very relaxed pace.
The equipment to the race is basically tested and I feel ready to tackle this race. I’ll be in Chamonix for the whole UTMB week with friends, so it will also be a nice trip.
In all, I have moved 133km, had 32.5h in the mountains and 9600+m of elevation gain in 7 days. We have moved in all kinds of terrain, from very technical to very runnable and tried some very long downhills.
We had some awesome moments and experienced some fantastic views and places together.
When I come back from such a week, I just wish I lived in the mountains….
